After a 25 minute uphill climb, we dropped onto our favourite bench to catch our breath. As we were sitting there we spied this man and his dog walking up the hill on the lawn. It turns out they were collecting some fallen apples from the tree nearby so that the dog could go fetch them.
Sadly, these apples have nary a taste and drop to the ground before they can even grow to full size. Happily, the dog loves to run after them when his master throws them for him and who knows, he may be receiving added vitamins to boot.
It was fun watching the comings and goings of this tireless little fella. Even though he already had an apple in his mouth, he was eager for the next one to be thrown so he could take off after it.
