Apples

A portion of our walk takes us past what we believe to be a former piece of farmland.  Farmland with lots of fruit trees.  There are a number of very elderly apple trees, some no longer bearing fruit, and many just barely hanging in as trees.  There are however two remarkable apple trees that bear so many apples it is simply unbelievable!

After the wind and rain a few days earlier, most of the little apples have fallen to the ground.

Sadly, for as valiant as this tree is, these apples are tasteless and never grow to a decent size.  They are  only about 4 times larger than a crab apple.
Out of this bunch, I only found 2 that were edible.
