Bicycles, Bicycles, Bicyles

Yesterday as My Beloved and I were just starting our walk up the 25 minute hill, all of these kids on bikes came pouring out of the footpath.  And I mean pouring.  It was amazing to see so many kids chatting, pedalling, playing touch the high branch, one after another.

My Beloved's curiosity got the better of him (thankfully!) and he asked, "what's going on?".  He found out from one of the teachers that the Grade 7s from Topham Elementary were going to ride up to the Golden Ears Provincial Park.  Golden Ears, that's a mighty long ride but they sure appeared to be up for it.

It amazes me what school teachers take on.  All of the coordination, permissions, you name it. I can't help but wonder how many flat tires or chains came off on that trip, never mind the hills! We don't pay them nearly enough.

Mustering at the Firehall 8, awaiting instructions on how they will get onto the Golden Ears Bridge.

What a glorious day for a bike ride it was yesterday and again today, and probably tomorrow and tomorrow.  Oh beautiful Summer, please don't leave us!
